Air traffic to Israel will be gradually expanded again
International air traffic to Israel will be gradually resumed due to the stable security situation. The Lufthansa Group will resume scheduled flights to Tel Aviv as early as August 1, 2025, offering connections from its hubs in Frankfurt, Munich, and Vienna. Other international airlines are planning to restart their Israel flights for the winter flight schedule (end of October 2025). Israeli airlines have been offering regular connections from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland again since the beginning of July 2025.
Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines are planning the following from August 1: Up to 14 weekly frequencies are scheduled from Munich, and up to 21 from Frankfurt. Austrian Airlines is planning between seven and 14 flights per week. SWISS is currently aiming to resume flights between Zurich and Tel Aviv at the start of the winter flight schedule on October 26.
EL AL already offers up to eleven weekly flights from Berlin, up to seven weekly flights from Frankfurt, and up to nine weekly flights from Munich to Tel Aviv. EL AL operates up to eight weekly flights from Vienna. Israir already connects Berlin with up to five weekly flights, and Arkia will start three weekly flights from Munich on August 2. Connections from easyJet (from Berlin), Eurowings (from Düsseldorf and Hamburg), and Ryanair (from several German airports) have also been announced for the winter flight schedule (from the end of October 2025). From the beginning of September, Bluebird will offer direct flights between Vienna and Tel Aviv, followed by WIZZ Air from mid-September.
